Arshad Ahmad received his MBA and PhD in Educational Psychology at McGill University, Canada. He is the Vice-Provost, Teaching & Learning at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He is also the Director of The Paul R. MacPherson Institute for Leadership, Innovation and Excellence in Teaching and Learning. Arshad has taught and authored textbooks in Corporate and Personal Finance and is the recipient of several Teaching and Professor-of-the-Year awards from local and international universities. In 1992, he was recognized for leadership in teaching with a lifetime 3M National Teaching Fellowship – a program he went on to coordinate for 10 years. He has also held leadership positions as President of The Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, a national association of teachers in Canada and Vice-President of The International Consortium for Educational Development consisting of 24 member organizations worldwide. Arshad’s current research interests are in Teaching Philosophies, Approaches to Teaching, Students as Partners and Financial Literacy. He is also the subject matter expert for a massive open online course specialization offered by Coursera titled Finance for Everyone.
