Carol-Ann Courneya, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Medicine and Assistant Dean of Student Affairs at the University of British Columbia. She received her doctorate from the University of British Columbia. Her area of expertise is cardiovascular physiology and she is the author of the textbook, Cardiovascular Physiology, which is the standard for teaching that subject.

Carol-Ann has been involved with the Patan Academy of Health Sciences (PAHS) in Nepal since its inception in 2003, serving as both an administrator and a faculty member. In 2011, with two other AWB volunteers, she taught two courses in basic medical science to the inaugural PAHS class of 60 students. She maintains a continuing relationship with PAHS.
