Bruce divides his time between the Tom & Nancy Miyashita Foundation and his consulting practice Miyashita Advisory.

The Tom & Nancy Miyashita Foundation is focused on work to build practical life and employment skills in young adults in areas such as applied math, communication and team problem solving. Miyashita Advisory is focused on Bruce’s expertise in Process Excellence which includes the Toyota Lean philosophy and Business Analytics.

Bruce has held several executive positions including Head of the Process Centre of Excellence at BMO Financial Group, Vice-President Six Sigma at Maple Leaf Foods Inc., and Director of Strategic Initiatives at Bombardier Inc. He was also a consultant at McKinsey & Company.

Bruce is an Honorary Member of the Fogo Island Arts Advisory Board. He was also inducted into the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre Hall of Fame for his fundraising activities.

Bruce is a cyclist and photographer and is also a collector of wine, art, and vintage jazz records. He has an undergraduate degree in Arts and Science from McMaster University and an MBA from the Ivey School of Business at Western University. He resides in Toronto, Canada.
