Sabita Rana

Sabita Rana is an immunologist and public health consultant who divides her time between Nepal and Australia. After obtaining a PhD in viral immunology, she spent several years conducting her postdoctoral training in photoimmunology and managing a core research flow cytometry facility at the University of Sydney. A native of Nepal, Sabita went on to obtain a Master in International Public Health with the view to contribute to development in Nepal.

She currently combines her immunology and public health interests by teaching medical students at the Patan Academy of Health Sciences, is undertaking a viral encephalitis study at Patan Hospital with partners from the University of Sydney and consults for public health projects including evaluations of maternal and newborn health programmes.
